Not a good day for Grand Central – The first Sunderland to KX train
ran an hour late, the first shuttled from York was cancelled, and the
afternoon shuttle from Sunderland was running ¾ to an hour late!

Bad day on the East Coast Main Line. I was going to York, but when I arrived at Peterborough there were no trains northbound. So I spent the day at Peterborough instead!

The 7.30 from Kings Cross 91117 got caught up in the wires between Huntingdon and Peterbourgh, and was rescued by 67003. Later 67017 dragged it back to Bounds Green. The DVT was 82217 "Of To the races" – which was far from were it was going today!

Also, trains south were later delayed by a car hitting a bridge outside York. Plus of course the signallers' strike in Scotland caused disruption.
