How to submit photos for inclusion
on the ICRS web site
Photos can either be sent via
e-mail or on
CD-ROM, memory card or memory stick to the Web Site Manager at 7 Parkside,
Furzton, Milton Keynes, MK4 1BX. Photos provided on disc or other media should come with a list
of captions for each photo stating the subject and where and when the photo was
taken. Similarly for e-mail submissions please ensure you include an appropriate
file name or caption with each image giving details of subject and where and
when the photo was taken. Unfortunately we cannot accept photos, which are not
provided with a full caption.
We will return discs and other media
provided you include with your submission sufficient postage and suitable
packaging for their return. ICRS cannot accept any responsibility for images or
media damaged or lost in the post.
If sending photos by e-mail please ensure that no more than 5 photos are sent at
a time. Ideally the size of each should be under 200Kb. If you are intending to
send more than this or larger files please contact the
Web Site Manager
first.
Will you accept prints?
Although we prefer to have all photos submitted by e-mail or on CD-ROM, memory card or memory stick, we can accept colour prints. These should be of a good quality and on glossy paper. Prints will be returned, if requested. ICRS cannot accept any responsibility for prints damaged or lost in the post.
What are acceptable photos?
We will consider all photos of any railway subject within the UK, Europe or beyond. The photos must be your own work and we will not accept photos where you do not hold the copyright. We will not normally accept photos that have been manipulated or altered and you should advise us when submitting your photos for consideration if any alterations have been made to the original image.
How and when will photos be published to the web site?
We regularly update the photo gallery and photos submitted will be posted at the next available opportunity. If you are intending to submit photos on a regular basis, let us know, so that we can set up your own page within the Gallery. Alternatively photos will be added to one of the existing pages.
Some photos may be used for our ICRS Magazine. If you don't want your photos used for the magazine or another ICRS publication please state this when sending us your images.
Do I have to be a member of the ICRS?
No. We will accept contributions from both members and non-members alike.
If I submit photos will you provide a link to my Fotopic website?
Details of our suggested links can be found here. If you would like us to link to your Fotopic site we will consider this and if deemed suitable, the link will be added to the Links page.
