THE INTER CITY RAILWAY SOCIETY RULES
The following basic Rules have been laid down and approved for the Society’s and Members’ protection, & should be read/understood before you sign the Application Form.
1. Membership is open to all Railway enthusiasts from age 12 upwards.
2. When you join the Society you should pay your £15.00 Subscription for the year
or £75.00 for 5 years.
3. The Society holds a comprehensive Insurance Policy to cover against loss of
life or limb or injury to a Member or temporary Member. The Railway Companies,
the Inter City Railway Society, and the individual staff, Officials or individuals, are
not held liable for any accident or incident whatsoever, or however caused. Claims
are to be made against the Insurance Policy only. Payments of Membership fees to
the Society deem acceptance of these conditions.
4. The Society and its Officers cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to any
Member’s property.
5. The Society reserves the right to refuse any Application for Membership or any
renewal thereof.
6. Any Member in breach of the Society’s Rules or disobeying the instructions of an
Officer will forfeit his or her Membership.
7. Any Member failing to turn up for a Society tour by the advertised departure time
and failing to give prior notice will forfeit their deposit. For European tours, the
full fare will be forfeited.
8. The Society’s name shall not be used for any individual’s private gain or purpose
whatsoever.
9. An Annual General Meeting will be held each year to present the Accounts for the
past year. Two months’ notice shall be given in the Society’s journals and all
Members are welcome to exercise their voting rights and suggest any improvements or
changes to the Society.
10. A No Smoking policy is operated in all vehicles used on Society tours.
